Linda K.'s Story
Since there were 3 Linda Smiths at our school, I'm the one who was in drama and refused to climb the rope in P.E. I married Ron Haun, class of '63, in '66 and we divorced in '75. I've been in management for land development companies, owned my own gift corporation, and other small businesses. All great fun and learning experiences. I moved to the Owens Valley in 2004 where I live on 4 acres in the Alabama Hills (where the Lone Ranger etc. was filmed in the Sierra foothills back in the '50's, and also Iron Man, much of Django Unchained and others). it. Also, I'm the Manager of the historic Mt. Whitney Cemeteries (an interesting job, but one I sure never thought of having). I also have my own business called Linda K. Haun, Professional Assistance or lindahaunassist. I've published 4 historical fiction novels based on the early history of the Eastern Sierra using my middle name Kathleen Haun (just put in that name on Amazon), and the research for those has led to some wonderful road trips and adventures. The first novel Dear Carrie is in the form of letters written in 1878, which I wrote in the style of the time. I must have done a good job because people often ask to see the original letters.
